What is included in the cost of your NRA Basic Pistol Classes?
- We provide the guns, ammunition, targets, and range fees.
What is not included in your NRA Basic Pistol Classes?
- The only cost we do not include is the cost of the range membership. When we go to the NRA range for your live fire training, you will be required to take a range test and pay a fee for membership to the range. The fee is usually $15. However, you will be issued a range card and will be able to use the range anytime you would like in the future.
Can I bring my own gun for the live range training?
- Yes, but we will use our guns for the majority of the time on the range. We do this because we know how our guns shoot and it makes it easier for us to diagnose issues with your shooting. However, we will work with you with your firearm for the last 10 to 15 minutes of your range training. If you choose to bring your own firearm you will also need to provide ammunition.
Do I need to bring anything to class?
- You may bring a pad and pen or pencil for note taking but all class materials is included in all of our classes.
How long is your NRA Basic Pistol Class?
- This really depends on class size. Generally we keep our classes to a maximum of 8 students so the classroom portion usually runs from 0900 to around 1400. Then we go directly to the range to conduct the live range training portion of the class.
Do you provide lunch?
- No. But our classroom facilities are close to many eateries and you may also bring your lunch. Our facilities do have coffee, tea, and beverage machines.
How many students do you have on the range at one time?
- Generally we will only train a maximum of two students at one time. However, sometimes the range officials will make us increase that to three if the range is busy. Ninety percent of the time it is a maximum of two students at one time.
How do I apply for my conceal carry permit?
- Virginia residents can go to the Virginia State Police website and down load the application. Please go to this website for more information http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms_ResidentConcealed.shtm will provide you with a certificate that you have successfully completed the required training in order to be able to file for you concealed carry permit.
